Expert tips and strategies to enhance your writing at work
April 2022 Issue

This month we're talking about the highly coveted skill of technical writing. Technical writing is not just for technical writers, and Leonardo da Vinci is a perfect example.

During the period of the Renaissance, he wrote ‘user manuals’ for his unique inventions. Obviously, the diagrams and written instructions were just a complement to his creations, but they are still a huge part of what he is known for today.

At some point, most people need to convey technical information in an email, report, or executive summary. Writing with clarity, brevity, and accuracy is required in all of these situations.

Our instructor, Kara, has outlined the skills required for technical writing and how to improve each of them in her recent blog post.

She also made a list of the top 10 bad technical writing examples. And fortunately, she also addressed how to fix each of them.

These two articles are a great way to quickly review technical writing, but enrolling in a course will ensure you can write clear documents with ease.

We'll be posting more about writing all types of technical documentation in the coming weeks.

Error Hunt: Can you spot the error?

An independent research company polled hundreds of our customers, and the results are currently being calculated. We should receive the report by next Wednesday.

I have not yet seen any of the research company’s statistician’s data, but until I have the opportunity to review this, we need to defer all pricing changes.

Can you spot the error? If not, learn how to correct the mistake here.
